Equipment Loaner Closet
Options loans durable medical equipment to people with disabilities who lack the financial income or insurance coverage to fund its purchase or to access funding in a timely manner. The equipment is donated to Options and in turn Options makes it available to people needing such. The equipment includes wheelchairs, walkers, power chairs, canes, reachers, transfer benches, raised toilet seats and more. All the equipment is available on a first come first served basis; Options will hold equipment for a 24 hour period. For persons wanting a power chair or scooter who have never used one before, it is required that you get a medical provider's statement that you the user have both the cognitive and physical ability to use such equipment. Additionally, all persons requesting equipment are to seek out medical providers so that the equipment can be fit to you and inspected to insure it is functional. Options has no technicians on staff to do such. All person checking out equipment or in some cases where Options is giving the equipment to you are required to read, understand and sign a release of liability waiver.
